Five Decade LPN Showered with Good Wishes at Annual Event
More than 260 members of the Trinitas Regional Medical Center family and guests enjoyed the annual Employee Service Awards Dinner held recently. Among those whose aggregate years of service approached nearly 3700 years was 50-year employee, Mary Belle Jones, LPN, who works in the 8 South patient care unit. Mary Belle, who received her training at Thomas Edison Vocational School, now part of Elizabeth High School, traces her experience back to Elizabeth General Hospital and Medical Center. Over the years, Mary Belle worked in the tonsil and adenoid unit, then later the medical surgical, respiratory and telemetry patient care units. A life-long resident of Elizabeth, Mary Belle doesn't look upon her time in nursing care as 50 years, but rather as "a series of opportunities to share in the dedication, loyalty, commitment and teamwork among my fellow health care professionals that have marked my life-long career."
